Job Description:
DUTIES
1.Serve as part of the management team in conducting/overseeing daily operations:
•Opening and closing of the facility.
•Supervising of staff and climbers during facility operation.
•Managing POS stations, cash on hand needs and nightly drops.
•Booking parties, groups, and program registrations.
2. Provide quality climbing instruction to children and adults:
•Give top rope and lead tests/instruction in accordance with DRG standards.
•Conduct multi-day climbing classes for beginners.
•Assist with and/or lead outdoor climbing trips to local climbing area.
3.Assume responsibility for one of the following areas:
•Program development
•Retail sales
•Route setting
4. Assist General Manager by providing input and feedback on the following items:
•Hiring/terminating staff and performance evaluations.
•Budgeting or fiscal management.
•Adding, deleting or amending DRG policies and procedures.
•Facility management including alteration of the walls, anchors and/or belay systems.
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in recreation, leisure studies, sport management, education or related field. Equivalent in work experience may be accepted.
•Minimum of one-year experience in the climbing industry in a supervisory position.
•Technical outdoor climbing experience. AMGA or PCIA certification preferred.
•Possess current First Aid and CPR certifications or acquire training with 30 days of employment. Wilderness component preferred.
•Strong interpersonal skills in relation to customer service and staff management.
•Ability to act independently on tasks as well as contribute to a team driven environment.
