Wheeler Lakes and Lost Lake are located within the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area and Dillon Ranger District of the White River National Forest. These popular lakes are 2.95 and 4.95 miles from the Copper Mountain Ski Resort along the Gore Range Trail. This moderately strenuous hike leads through high subalpine forests and spacious alpine meadows with arresting views across the Gore and Ten Mile mountain ranges. Visitors will enjoy an idyllic alpine landscape, choice backcountry camping and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities throughout.
