Hessie Trailhead: Jasper Lake
Indian Peaks Wilderness Area
Jasper Lake is well known for its brilliant wildflowers, abundant trout and numerous backcountry campsites. This deceptively large, kidney bean-shaped lake covers nearly 19 acres beneath Devils Thumb Peak and Mount Neva's massive ridgeline. It contains cutthroat, brook, and brown trout. Jasper Lake is an ideal distance for day-hikers, backpackers and recommended first-stop for multi-day trekkers heading to the Continental Divide and beyond.
